House Hunters Family Season 2 Episode 13 Recap: Ready to Own in Cedar Park, Texas

Markus and Audrey Hogue met online, and then they dated for eight months before deciding to get married. They’re now still happily in love and combined their families. They’re bringing their two children, Layla (9) and Gabriel (6), along for their house search.

The Hogue family has a budget between $450,000 and $550,000.

Wish Lists

Markus and Audrey’s: Markus and Audrey want to buy a house in Cedar Park, TX, a suburb outside of Austin. The new place needs at least four bedrooms and three bathrooms. It also needs to have at least 3,500 sq. ft. Audrey and Markus want a big kitchen, a spacious backyard with a pool, and additional space for a gym and playroom. They also want a large master bathroom and a stone exterior.

Gabriel and Layla’s: Layla wants a spacious bedroom with a reading nook. Gabriel wants a spacious room with plenty of space for his toys.

House #1, $459,000

House Hunters Family Season 2 Episode 13 Recap: Ready to Own in Cedar Park, Texas-1

This home is a few minutes away from the Hogue family’s rental unit. It has four bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, and over 3,200 sq. ft. The place has high ceilings in almost every room and hardwood flooring throughout, but the bedrooms have carpet. All the rooms are on one level, the top level.

The bottom space is dominated by a spacious kitchen with stainless steel appliances and a white design. Audrey doesn’t like the kitchen design and Layla doesn’t like that it only has one oven. All the bedrooms are spacious, especially the master bedroom. It also has a matching spacious bathroom and walk-in closet. The home includes two bonus areas that could become playrooms and gyms. It also has an extra large backyard.

House #2, $449,000

House Hunters Family Season 2 Episode 13 Recap: Ready to Own in Cedar Park, Texas-2

This home has the stone exterior that Markus and Audrey love. It’s a four bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms home with over 3,800 sq. ft. This home also includes an open-ish concept and a formal dining area. It also has a side office space, hardwood flooring, and a living room with a fireplace. The kitchen matches Layla and Audrey’s styles more than the other kitchen because of the dark wood cabinets and a double oven.

Upstairs the family get their gym area, a bonus playroom, and a media room. This place also has plenty of natural lighting, hardwood floors, and huge walk-in closet. The master bedroom is spacious but Audrey thinks the shower is a little too small. The backyard is way too small for them, especially since it is basically the size of their current rental backyard.

House #3, $545,000

House Hunters Family Season 2 Episode 13 Recap: Ready to Own in Cedar Park, Texas-3

This home has gorgeous views of greenery. It’s a five bedrooms three and a half bathrooms home with over 3,600 sq. ft. This place comes with a pool and potential area for a gym and more play space. It has a very open concept and tall ceilings. The kitchen is very small, but all the rooms are very large with nice views.

The office is placed oddly in the master bedroom. This place also has a very tiny closet and outdated, small shower. The backyard is also very lackluster and rocky, but the pool area is divine.

Decision Time: Realistically, people takes years to pick out their perfect home. They see dozen upon dozens of homes before settling on the right one. So House Hunters not showing these families pick any of the three shown is realistic, but it’s not fun.

House Hunters Family Season 2 Episode 13 Recap: Ready to Own in Cedar Park, Texas-4

Markus and Audrey pick…No house.

They decided all three homes had too many issues, so instead they’re still looking. Good luck to the Hogue family on their continued house hunting journey.
