Chip and Joanna Gaines on Fixer Upper - Source: HGTV

“Fixer Upper” on HGTV follows Chip and Joanna Gaines as they help clients find houses and rediscover what makes it home. Oh, and there’s Demo Day. There’s always Demo Day.

The first season of Fixer Upper began in April 2014 featuring the couple, one half contractor and one half designer, helping families find and restore homes throughout the Waco, Texas area and they haven’t stopped since.

When Is Fixer Upper On?

Now in its fourth season, Fixer Upper has become HGTV’s number one series on the network, drawing in millions of viewers each week. New episodes for Season 4 continued on Tuesdays at 9/8c on HGTV with the season 4 finale on March 28, 2017.

As for when we’ll see Fixer Upper Season 5, the past three seasons started in the winter with just one season a year. If they keep that routine for next season then we’ve got a long downtime between the fourth and fifth season. Good thing we’ve got Behind The Design to tide us over in the meantime!

Repeat episodes are airing relentlessly on HGTV including mini marathons often on the weekend and in the lead up to their new episodes on Tuesdays. Plenty of opportunities to catch more Fixer Upper on HGTV.

How Did Fixer Upper Start?

Originally airing its series pilot in 2013 Joanna and Chip Gaines were waiting on word from producers as to whether there’d be more of the show to film. Sure enough the series got its green light and hasn’t looked back since.

That first filmed project, a home in Waco’s Castle Heights neighborhood, wasn’t their first either as the Magnolia Homes couple explained to Waco Trib. In fact they had already remodeled at least one hundred homes. Now with more than a dozen home renovations filmed in the series their portfolio of work continues to grow.

What Is The Fixer Upper Spinoff?

If you just can’t get enough of Chip and Joanna Gaines then you’re in luck. HGTV has ordered a new series, “Fixer Upper: Behind The Design,” but unlike the Flip or Flop spinoffs, this show will also feature the main show’s hosts.

“Behind The Design” takes an in-depth look at how Joanna creates her final vision and implements in for each of the Fixer Upper homes. These episodes will feature content captured in parallel to the other work done on the show as companion content to the series. Fans can catch the pilot on Tuesday, March 28th at 11PM ET/PT but will have to wait until later in the year for the launch of the full season.
