House Hunters Recap: The Perfect Shot in Kentucky

House Hunters Recap: The Perfect Shot in Kentucky

House Hunters‘ David and Archie have recently moved to Louisville, KY to live closer to family. The couple used to live in Florida but now think Kentucky presents a great opportunity to grow their careers and social life.

Since David and Archie’s move, they have been living with Archie’s sister and her husband. Archie’s sister’s husband, Keith, also happens to be a real estate agent. The couple enlist him to help them find the ideal place for their $300,000 budget.

Wish Lists

David and Archie want a place that has at least three bedrooms and two bathrooms. They also want the home to include a 2-car garage, and a place for their pool table.

Hers: Archie wants an updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances. She wants to have carpet in her home. She also prefers the one-story brick or stone ranch style homes. Archie’s list also includes a move-in ready space that is close to downtown and has a formal dining room.

His: David wants a huge yard. He also wants their home to have multi-stories, and be more of a Victorian style place. He wants hardwood floors and for it to be located near the eastside of Louisville.

House #1, $279,000

The style of this home fits more with Archie’s wish list. It’s one story and has a brick style. Inside, it’s more of David’s style with hardwood floors, a place for a music room and a pool table. The kitchen is nice but not newly remodeled.

Archie didn’t want any projects but David did, and this place needs some serious new paint. The yard is large, but not as large as David wants. It’s also towards the eastside which is close to David’s job, but about 30 minutes from Archie’s desired area and work.

House #2, $254,600

This home has a Victorian style but it has been recently remodeled. There is carpet all over the place, and a fireplace and dining room. However, there isn’t really a large enough space for a pool table. The kitchen is Archie’s dream with new stainless steel appliances.

Archie also likes that this place is move-in ready and doesn’t need much cosmetic changes. Unfortunately it doesn’t have a garage, but the master bedroom is huge with a matching bathroom.

House #3, $329,500

This home is also located on the eastside. The second home was the only one located close to downtown Louisville. It has a formal dining room, hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances, and a huge space for the pool table.

The bedrooms are small and located in the attic area. The backyard is very large, too large according to Archie.

Decision Time: This one seemed obvious but we were wondering if this episode could be one where the obvious choice wasn’t the one they picked.

In the end, they picked the obvious choice…House #1.

They got it for a couple thousand dollars less than asking price. It was only $275,000, instead of the asking price of $279,000.
