Flip or Flop Vegas Season 2 Episode 6 Recap: Condo on the Vegas Strip-4

In true Flip or Flop Vegas fashion, Aubrey gave a modest one bedroom condo a Vegas nightclub inspired look. With such a small space, the couple predicted that they could finish it in two weeks, and stay under a $10,000 budget.

The owners had been renting the place out, so it was full of garbage and a foul odor. The kitchen and master bedroom were still both in fairly good conditions, but the bathroom needed a lot of work. The seller wanted $125,000 for it, but Bristol and Aubrey countered with a $115,000 offer. The seller and the couple had a bit of a back and forth battle with pricing, but eventually they got it for $117,000.

The most work would involve replacing the carpet, adding new appliances to the kitchen, and turning the tub into a shower. Aubrey, as always had some very creative ideas for the place, like mirrored black tiles, black and white striped wallpaper, and pink pops of color throughout. Overall, the place would mainly stay in the black and white realm–which also meant a black toilet.

The biggest issue Bristol encountered during renovations was a long delay on the cabinets’ arrival. This issue set Bristol and his team back an extra five days. He also fought his own demons as he struggled to get striped wallpaper on the ceiling.

Once the cabinets arrive, Bristol is shocked to learn that Aubrey wants some of the brown ones painted pink. But like the loving husband he is, he painted them without too much of a protest. During the staging process, Aubrey made sure to add plenty of pink things, like a pink couch.

They also added an electric fireplace, which is one of the reasons they go over budget. Bristol and Aubrey really managed to stretch the $10,800 total they spend, because the place looks fantastic.

We’re not going to lie, we were very worried the minute Aubrey said pink cabinets (which proved to be a real worry, because the buyer had them repaint it white before closing the deal), but everything worked. The condo was definitely luxurious and flashy but it created this wonderful stylistic picture.

The staging of the one room with the Vegas sign was a little–sorry Aubrey–tacky. Other than that, everything else fit quite well. They end up listing the place for $155,000. After only six days on the market, it sold for $154,000.

Minus their initial investment and all the fees, they end up making a profit of $20,200. Not a bad pay day for three weeks of hard work.
