Tiny Luxury Season 2 Episode 5 Recap: Live/Work Tiny Home

Miami’s Paty and Diego are ready to pack up their business and go on an adventure in a tiny home. So they’ve enlisted the Tiny Luxury team from Tiny Heirloom to help send them on their way.

The couple already works from home and since they love to travel, they’ve decided a tiny home will help them travel where ever they want and not miss a day’s work because they’ll be pulling their home and office along with them.

Since they’ll also be using the house as their workspace, they need a home office and creative space. They also really want a rooftop deck. They’d love the home to feature a modern Bohemian design to refeclt all of their world travels.

Paty and Deigo head to Portland to meet Tyson and Michelle and see what they have in mind for their new home. Tyson reveals the plans for their new 150 square feet home. It will have 11 windows, French doors and will be made with all eco-friendly materials.

With a very enthusiastic OK from the future tiny homeowners and the  $85,000 budget in mind, the build team gets to work on the tiny house.

The build team works as fast as they always do and the frame is up by Day 2 and by Day 12, they’re putting on the finishing touches.

On Day 14, it’s time to pull the house out of the garage and set it up for the big (tiny) reveal. Michelle gets to work on the furnishings and decorations. She kept their modern Bohemian design in mind when designing the interior.

Let’s get to the reveal!

Paty and Diego show up and the group takes them to see their new home. As they walk up to the tiny house they are basically speechless. They are absolutely thrilled with the result and both nearly in tears. Diego thinks it’s “the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen apart from Paty.” They love the colors and the windows and the French doors.

They head inside to see how the living spaces turned out and they’re just as thrilled with those results. They think everything about the house is perfect. They seem to think their master loft is the best part of their new house.

I think it’s pretty perfect too. Usually there’s one or two things I’m iffy about in home design, but to me, this one is perfect. I love the bamboo cabinets and ceilings and especially love the reclaimed teak tile. And those stairs that take up only the amount of space a ladder would: brilliant and beautiful. My favorite part of the house is probably the bathroom though. The Moroccan floor tile is beautiful and the bath tub is inviting and modern. It’s a perfect space.

The rooftop deck is pretty awesome, too. The plant-based artificial grass looks real, and according to them, feels real also. I imagine the only way you’d know it’s not real is you don’t have to mow it.

This has by far been one of my favorite Tiny Luxury homes. What did you think of the house? Check out some photos of the house below and the full gallery at www.tinyheirloom.com
