Flip Or Flop Vegas Season 2 Episode 5 Recap: Black-and-White Turnaround

Flip Or Flop Vegas Season 2 Episode 5 Recap: Black-and-White Turnaround

We have a straightforward house flip on this week’s Flip or Flop Vegas. No themed glamour involved, just a good ol’ fashion renovation. Aubrey and Bristol find a run down 1300 sq ft three bedrooms and two bathrooms home.

The owners are asking for $220,000, after reducing it from $240,000 (after six months of not selling). The house needs way too much work for that price. Bristol and Aubrey make a $200,000 bid, but get countered with a $205,000, and they accept it. The house is unbelievably outdated: It still looks like something stuck in the 70s.

It also needs some walls taken down to make the kitchen area more spacious. The building is missing a washer and dryer inside the space, so they need to create room for it. The other rooms aren’t in terrible condition: They  just need to add some basic cosmetic touches, which will modernize it and attract potential buyers. Bristol and his team don’t encounter any major renovation issues, so the process goes smoothly.

We also get a more playful side of Bristol on this episode, and his personality (the “dorky husband” side) starts to come out, which was actually nice to see. We found ourselves enjoying watching the interaction between Aubrey and Bristol more than we cared about the remodeling process.

There isn’t a set theme for the house, but Aubrey wants to stay neutral with the colors. Not too many bright colors or pea green; instead, it’s all about the black and white with a few blue accents.

This is also one of the few times this season where they actually repaint the front area. Bristol also geek out about the possibility of spray painting the grass green. Aubrey makes the doors baby blue-ish to go along with the midnight blue staging design. The couple stay fairly close to their estimated budget of $20,000: They only invest about $21,000 in remodeling.

Surprisingly, Aubrey and Bristol manage to balance simple, sophistication with the showiness of Vegas. We get to see a beautiful result with a new wide kitchen, stackable washer and dryer, and cozy looking bedrooms and bathrooms.

The brokers suggest that Aubrey and Bristol list it for only about $240,000. However, they believe that with all the work that went into it, they should take a chance and list it for $272,000. After only three days on the market, it sells for $275,000. They make a profit of about $38,000.
