Wish Lists

They both want a place as close to the water as possible.

His: Henrik wants a Mediterranean style home. He wants a single-family home with his own private boat dock. Henrik also wants as many bedrooms as possible, to fit their enire family when they come over to visit. Henrik also wants a large office space and space to store his wines.

Hers: Brita wants a more moden home. She want a beach front and a large kitchen. She doesn’t want too much space, so she thinks three bedrooms should be enough.

House #1, $3.95 million

House Hunters Recap: Snowbirds Escape to Longboat Key,, Florida-1

This is a Mediterranean style with five bedrooms and four bathrooms. It’s a single family home, but has plenty of room for multiple families. This amazing home has everything from an elevator to Italian tiles. The home has a family room, deck right by the water, and a high-end kitchen.

Brita’s issues with the place is that it’s not close enough to the beach and has too much space. Henrik doesn’t like the small space to store his wine, but he loves everything else about it.

House #2, $3.2 million

House Hunters Recap: Snowbirds Escape to Longboat Key,, Florida-2

This home has four bedrooms and three bathrooms. It’s by the beach and also a condo. Like Home #1, it has a ton of nice views from inside and outside the home. Despite being a condo, this place looks more like a home. It also comes fully furnished.

Henrik doesn’t like how it’s missing an office space, and it doesn’t have enough room for the entire family. It also doesn’t have a boat dock.

House #3, $2.395 million

House Hunters Recap: Snowbirds Escape to Longboat Key,, Florida-3

This single family home is in a gated community. It has four bedrooms and four bathrooms. There is a large dining area, a large family room, small pool, and a chef’s kitchen. It also has the boat deck that Henrik wants.

The big down fall of this place is that it’s not near the beach.

Decision Time: House #3 just couldn’t compared to House #1 and House #2. House #2 was missing a lot of Henrik’s checklist, but it had almost everything on Brita’s list. It being fully furnished added to its appeal. House #1 was gorgeous but definitely felt excessive, especially if their family wasn’t going to visit often.

In the end…House #2 fit the bill the most.

Henrik and Brita managed to get the condo for $2.85 million instead of $3.2 million. They love their place, and take walks on the beach every morning.
