Flip or Flop Vegas Season 2 Episode 8 Recap: Rustic Cabin Dream House

Flip or Flop Vegas Season 2 Episode 8 Recap: Rustic Cabin Dream House

Bristol and Aubrey bring the woods to Vegas on this week’s Flip or Flop Vegas. The couple find a home in relatively good conditions: It mainly just needs some updates. The main renovations would occur in the kitchen and the living room. Bristol and Aubrey would remove the wall to allow more space for the kitchen, and turn the home into an open concept space.

Aubrey doesn’t start the episode with a plan in mind, which allows Bristol to just happen to think “sure, I have design ideas.” Bristol suggests that they make the home into a glamorous cabin. Cue Aubrey’s skeptical and disgusted face, but once he explains his ideas, she comes around to it.

They pay $227,000 for the home, $2,000 more than the original asking price of $225,000. Aubrey expects them to only put in about $25,000 in renovations. And they plan to sell it for about $285,000. Bristol is all about browns and wood fixtures to really give it the cabin look, but Aubrey thinks it needs some lighter tones to add the feminine touch.

Aubrey mentions that wives usually have the deciding factor in picking homes, so you don’t want to make any home too masculine. The couple agree on adding some red to the place to brighten it up, and they split the design ideas and concepts on the bathrooms.

Bristol gets to decorate the guest bathroom and Aubrey the master one. The backyard in this home really needs some work, so they have to remove the trees and plant new ones. They add a red backsplash in the kitchen, and red tiles in one of the showers.

During the staging process, they add artful pictures of animals. In some parts of the home, they go a little too theme heavy with the staging, especially the guest bedrooms. However, the master bedroom has the perfect staging style.

Besides the over-staging, this place is gorgeous. It’s definitely one of our favorite designs from Bristol and Aubrey. It truly manages to capture the cabin quality with the Vegas glitz. The only room we weren’t too crazy about is the guest bathroom, designed by Bristol. It just didn’t look welcoming, and a bit too dark and muted.

Aubrey’s bathroom was gorgeous. In the end, they decided to list the home for $308,000 and after three days on the market, they received multiple offers. They accepted an offer at $315,000. They spent a little under budget and made a profit of $53,000.

We’re surprised that Bristol didn’t make an offer himself on it, considering how much he loved it. What did you think of the final design on Flip or Flop Vegas?
